Chief Operating Officer

Central Alberta Medical Imaging Services (CAMIS) is seeking a strategic and collaborative Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the operational leadership of our organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the COO will oversee day-to-day operations, guide strategic initiatives, and support a high-performing leadership team. This role is ideal for a healthcare leader who is passionate about improving patient care, operational efficiency, and organizational performance.


Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure the highest standards of patient care, quality, and safety
  • Optimize and standardize operational processes and workflows to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Work collaboratively with an established and effective Management Team
  • Develop annual business plans for Board approval to guide and optimize CAMIS operations
  • Support the Board of Directors in developing a 3–5 year strategic plan
  • Execute strategic initiatives aligned with CAMIS’ mission and goals while proactively mitigating risks
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to review and adjust procedures and policies based on industry trends
  • Implement data-driven decision-making practices to measure and improve operational performance
  • Evaluate service areas and monitor physician referral patterns
  • Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to CAMIS performance

 

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the annual operating budget
  • Monitor financial performance and allocate resources effectively
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth and diversification
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility, transparency, and strong financial oversight
  • Oversee marketing and branding strategies that support organizational growth

 

Team Leadership:

  • Assist the Board in the ongoing development of the organization’s mission, vision, and values
  • Recruit, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of managers and administrators
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful organizational culture
  • Promote teamwork, diversity, and strong employee engagement
  • Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities for staff

 

Innovation and Research:

  • Develop partnerships that strengthen CAMIS as a leading medical imaging provider
  • Explore and implement emerging technologies and industry best practices
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning Community Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians, healthcare organizations, and community partners
  • Promote CAMIS’ role in improving community health and access to radiology services
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, institutions, and industry stakeholders

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in business or relevant field
  • 5+ years’ experience in senior leadership experience in healthcare operations, medical imaging, or a related healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational strategy, operations, and financial management
  • Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and decision-making abilities
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems, regulatory requirements

Salary Range: Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
