About Dr. Alexandra Dowhanik MD, FRCPC
Dr. Dowhanik is a highly skilled radiologist with 6 years of experience in diagnostic imaging. She completed her medical degree at the University of Alberta and pursued residency training in diagnostic radiology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She further honed her expertise through additional fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Radiology and pain management at the University of Alberta. Above all, she is committed to providing accurate and timely diagnoses to support optimal patient care.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Dowhanik has a passion for teaching and patient advocacy. She has contributed to published research and has spoken at several conferences and grand rounds presentations in various institutions.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Dowhanik enjoys spending time with family and loved ones, creative writing and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.

About Dr. David Glynn Martin
Dr Martin completed his training in Ontario, first in Ottawa for residency and then at Sunnybrook in Toronto where he did a women’s imaging fellowship, specializing in abdominopelvic imaging and procedures, breast imaging and procedures, and obstetrical imaging. Dr Martin is now thrilled to be working in his home province. He’s excited to be a leader in women’s imaging as well as a skillful general radiologist and proceduralist. He always strives to make accurate and timely diagnosis to guide patients through their health journey. When he’s not at CAMIS you’ll find him at the gym, golfing, or spending time with his family and cat.

Dr. Kris A. Peet

About Dr. Kris A. Peet
Dr. Peet completed his bachelor’s degree in Genetics at the University of British Columbia, with early research in signaling pathways in embryologic development. After working as a research assistant at the Alberta Cancer Board, he went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Alberta and a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Dalhousie University. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in 2020, and completed fellowship training in Interventional Radiology in 2021. His main research focus has been toward optimization of contrast usage for imaging quality and efficiency, for which he received a RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award in 2020.
Before joining CAMIS, Dr. Peet practiced at Royal Inland Hospital, a busy Level II trauma center.
Dr. Peet has a strong interest in medical education and interdisciplinary collaboration, has co-authored a chapter in a multidisciplinary trauma textbook, and is appointed as an Instructor in both Diagnostic Radiology and Family Medicine.
In the modern health care system, Dr. Peet advocates a deeply integrated role for the radiologist as part of the clinical team to facilitate efficient, timely, and safe care. His current practice includes diagnostic and interventional radiology, as well as participation in CAMIS’s own pain management program.
Outside of the practice of medicine, Dr. Peet has a deep love of the outdoors, and is an avid cyclist and skier. He and his wife are raising a young son, who just might be smarter than either of them.

I have worked at CAMIS since July 2017.
Radiology is a unique specialty where I can help patients and their referring physicians by making critical diagnoses in a timely fashion and also offer minimally invasive treatment options for the management of patients' symptoms. We have an excellent staff team that works hard every day with the goal of optimizing patient care. It is a privilege to work with this talented and crucial component of central Alberta’s Health Care community.
Dr. Mandegaran earned his medical degree with distinction from King’s College London in 2011. He subsequently completed his radiology residency at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, where he developed a keen interest in musculoskeletal imaging. Further honing his expertise, Dr. Mandegaran undertook advanced fellowships in musculoskeletal imaging and intervention at both Guy’s and St Thomas’ and the University of Alberta.
Since joining CAMIS in 2020, Dr. Mandegaran has played a pivotal role in the expansion of the clinic’s pain management program. His clinical focus centres on musculoskeletal ultrasound and image-guided interventions, with a particular emphasis on pain management.
Dr. Mandegaran is actively engaged in research, contributing to advancements in his field through numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. His recent research spans musculoskeletal imaging and intervention, and the application of artificial intelligence in ultrasound.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Mandegaran enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid sports and music enthusiast, particularly with a passion for playing soccer and the guitar.

About Dr. Sam Kim BSc, MD, FRCPC
With a keen interest in cross-sectional and oncologic imaging, Sam first came into contact with diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine during his pharmacy internship at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton. Subsequently, he completed his medical training at the University of Alberta in 2017.
Sam went to complete a combined 7-year diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine residency, during which further interest blossomed in cross-sectional and oncologic imaging. He then returned back to Alberta to call it home once again.

Dr. Syed Haydar joined CAMIS in 2024. Having obtained his medical degree at St. Bartholomew's & The Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry, he practiced as an Emergency Medicine Physician in Essex, England, prior to completing his Radiology Residency at Guys & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, UK. He completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Radiology at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital in 2019, and subsequently completed two further Fellowships in Emergency & Trauma Radiology, and Musculoskeletal Radiology at UBC, Vancouver (2021-2023). He has practiced independently as a Staff Radiologist since 2020 across the UK and Canada, combining Hospital, Clinic and Teleradiology-based practices. His current clinical practice interests relate to Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention, with a particular flair for Interventional MSK pain management procedures. His research focus is heavily centred over Dual-Energy CT applications and their continually expanding roles in radiological problem solving.
