About Chris Tarbox

Christine Tarbox (Chris) is proud to serve as the CEO of Central Alberta Medical Imaging Services (CAMIS), bringing a deep passion for diagnostic imaging to her role. Believing that diagnostic imaging plays a critical role in saving lives, Chris is dedicated to advancing the field and ensuring high-quality care for the community. In addition to her role as CEO, Chris is a Certified Executive Coach, empowering leaders to achieve their potential and drive transformative change. With extensive experience in operational management, change leadership, and relationship building, she has held senior positions across diverse industries. Her ability to foster collaboration and implement impactful solutions has consistently earned respect and delivered results. Chris holds an MBA, a Project Management Certificate, and a Certified Financial Planner designation, reflecting her strong academic foundation. Guided by her commitment to lifelong learning and professional development, Chris is devoted to the continued growth and success of CAMIS, making a lasting impact on the health and well-being of Central Alberta.

About Amber Javaid

I have been with CAMIS for 15 years .I am very proud to be a part of this team because the leadership of CAMIS has gone an extra mile to create an environment to effectively manage diversity and respect at the workplace through promoting a culture of tolerance and open communication. I believe that this wonderful working environment is one of the main reasons for increased customer satisfaction at CAMIS.

About Chrissy Martin

Employed with CAMIS for 9.5 years, I am passionate about medical imaging because it plays a critical role in diagnosing and treating patients. It also stems from a desire to advocate for patients. Medical imaging provides crucial information that empowers patients and their families to make informed decisions about their health.

About Corinne Mansell

I have had the pleasure of working at CAMIS for 25 years. Working with the staff and radiologists at CAMIS is an absolute honor. I enjoy helping out whenever and wherever I am given the opportunity. Organization and attention to detail are what I bring to the team and I truly look forward to coming to work each day.

About Gayle Tulk

I joined CAMIS in 2004 as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. As Quality Manager and Radiation Safety Officer, I enjoy collaborating on continuous improvement for all services CAMIS offers. It allows me to focus on the CAMIS mission statement “To provide high quality, state of the art, patient-oriented medical imaging in a rewarding work environment.

About Janine Benning

Ultrasound has been my passion for over 35 years! A transplant from Saskatchewan, I’m proud to be a part of this caring and progressive management team for over 20 years, Though the CAMIS imaging team has tripled in size and has expanded to cover 8 locations across Central Alberta, we strive to keep our focus patient-centred while providing imaging excellence.

About Leanne Alexander

I joined CAMIS January 2023 after being an external advisor to CAMIS for many years and I am honoured to work alongside our management team, staff and radiologists in providing medical imaging care to our patients across all of our communities.

About Lindsey Painchaud

I have worked at CAMIS for 12 years. I take great pride in the opportunity to positively impact the delivery of diagnostic imaging and pain management services to the people of Central Alberta. I am motivated each day to think of new ways to improve our services.

About Dr. Alan Poole MD, FRCPC

Dr. Poole is a highly skilled radiologist with 27 years of experience in diagnostic imaging. He is a general radiologist with sub-specialty expertise in women's imaging, interventional radiology, and MSK imaging. He is committed to providing accurate and timely diagnoses to support optimal patient care. Dr. Poole completed his medical degree and residency training at the University of Alberta . He practiced as an emergency physician before training as a radiologist. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Poole has a passion for [lifelong learning] and has held several radiology leadership positions during his career. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Poole enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading and cycling.

About Dr. Alexandra Dowhanik MD, FRCPC

Dr. Dowhanik is a highly skilled radiologist with 6 years of experience in diagnostic imaging. She completed her medical degree at the University of Alberta and pursued residency training in diagnostic radiology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She further honed her expertise through additional fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Radiology and pain management at the University of Alberta. Above all, she is committed to providing accurate and timely diagnoses to support optimal patient care. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Dowhanik has a passion for teaching and patient advocacy. She has contributed to published research and has spoken at several conferences and grand rounds presentations in various institutions. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Dowhanik enjoys spending time with family and loved ones, creative writing and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.

About Dr. Brendan Litt

Dr. Brendan Litt joined the team at CAMIS in 2019, bringing specialized neuroradiology experience from his fellowship at UCLA in Los Angeles, California. He offers a range of diagnostic imaging services and procedures, always striving to maintain a patient-centric approach to his work.

About Dr. Brian Isaac

With areas of interest in Echocardiography, Interventional Radiology and needle procedures, Dr Isaac has been practicing in Red Deer for 27 years. Unlimited opportunity for interactions with patients and staff, the breadth of the specialty and opportunity to continue to contribute to the well being of patients in Red Deer.

About Dr. Mollie Ferris

I have worked at CAMIS since July 2017 Radiology is a unique specialty where I can help patients and their referring physicians by making critical diagnoses in a timely fashion and also offer minimally invasive treatment options for the management of patients' symptoms. We have an excellent staff team that works hard every day with the goal of optimizing patient care. It is a privilege to work with this talented and crucial component of central Alberta’s Health Care community.

About Dr. Ramin Mandegaran MBBS, BSc, FRCR, FRCPC

Dr. Mandegaran earned his medical degree with distinction from King’s College London in 2011. He subsequently completed his radiology residency at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, where he developed a keen interest in musculoskeletal imaging. Further honing his expertise, Dr. Mandegaran undertook advanced fellowships in musculoskeletal imaging and intervention at both Guy’s and St Thomas’ and the University of Alberta. Since joining CAMIS in 2020, Dr. Mandegaran has played a pivotal role in the expansion of the clinic’s pain management program. His clinical focus centres on musculoskeletal ultrasound and image-guided interventions, with a particular emphasis on pain management. Dr. Mandegaran is actively engaged in research, contributing to advancements in his field through numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. His recent research spans musculoskeletal imaging and intervention, and the application of artificial intelligence in ultrasound. Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Mandegaran enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid sports and music enthusiast, particularly with a passion for playing soccer and the guitar.

About Dr. Sam Kim BSc, MD, FRCPC

With a keen interest in cross-sectional and oncologic imaging, Sam first came into contact with diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine during his pharmacy internship at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton. Subsequently, he completed his medical training at the University of Alberta in 2017. Sam went to complete a combined 7-year diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine residency, during which further interest blossomed in cross-sectional and oncologic imaging. He then returned back to Alberta to call it home once again.

Absolutely amazing staff and service.. very kind, caring, friendly, and efficient. Yes, my appointment was made on an emergency basis. I wish that the rest of our health care system worked as quickly, efficiently, and caring as these ladies and gentlemen did.
