Contributing to our Community in 2021

Health is a multifaceted and complex state that includes physical, mental and social well-being. While we support the well-being of our Central Alberta community by providing diagnostic services, we know that there are other aspects of community health that we can play an important role in fostering. With this understanding, we’ve invested resources into the Central Alberta community, to support our patients and the communities in which we live and work.

Central Alberta Food Banks

Special thanks to Kelsey R. & Caitlyn G. who organized and all who participated in Mistletoe Mania in support of the food bank raising almost $600! Also to Laurie B. who always thinks of the food bank at this time of year and sets up donation bins. CAMIS will also be adding to the food bank donation and will also be donating to the Food Banks in Sylvan Lake, Stettler & Olds.

Red Deer Christmas Bureau Literacy Program

Many of you probably saw the bookmarks with the Children’s Xmas party gifts but for those who didn’t CAMIS is also the proud sponsor of the Red Deer Christmas Bureaus’ Literacy Program. We hope to continue to sponsor this program because we know reading develops the mind and is the path to knowledge and hopefully a better life for some of these kids.

Other donations CAMIS has made this year

We supported the Women’s Outreach Christmas family program through the DI dept at RDRH who had chosen them as their Christmas family. As you all know we also sponsored their tools for school program with our extremely successful fun day in August.

We donated to the Central Alberta Humane Society. It’s been a hard year for all the animal rescues due to COVID givebacks & less animals spayed & neutered. A huge shout out to Dr. Ferris who continues to use her Vet skills to give back to the animal rescues by volunteering her time at Spay and Neuter clinics across the province.

We made donations in memory of Baby Leo who passed away earlier this year from Hirschsrpungs disease . He was part of our CAMIS “family” for only a short time, but his death left us all in mourning. Please take a moment to remember him and the fighter that he was. CAMIS donated to Ronald McDonald house who helped the family through the worst moments & also to REACH a non-profit organization dedicated to improving lives of children and families affected by Hirschsprung’s disease.
